Your Opinion On Why This Pitbull Puppy Died?

Okay sorry to bother but im a little upset today. In may i adopted a american pitbull puppy, my in laws adopted the brother that was identical to mine. Everything has been great with my puppy, has all his shots and knows tons of tricks. He is absolutely the smartest dog i have ever had, not to forget to mention he is a indoor dog. Now today my sil called me to say that she found her puppy dead! I asked her were there any signs of the pup being sick and she said yes, for a week it had diarhea and lost lots of weight and could not open his mouth to eat or drink water. I figured that he must have been very dehydrated. When we first got the dogs i got my dewormed, in which he had lots of worms and we had to repeat the process twice before they were gone. We told them and they never got the dewormed or vaccinations! They live in some huge home on a oepn field so they have mice and lots of them, do you think the dog ate a mouse or do you think parvo or some sort of disease by the symptoms i told you? Im worried cause a few weeks ago we were evacuated from our home due to the fires in california and had to stay with them for 2 days. I know parvo is contagious, my dog is dog aggressive so we kept them seperated but my pup was in the sectioned off part of the yard that they made for their dog. I really dont want my dog to get whatever he had & im very sad that the dog died…I love animals like you would not believe sad over this. In your opinion what do you think it could have been? Also the pup was about 8 months and he was soooo beautiful… I really think that some people should not own dogs cause if this were my case he would have went to the vet… Sorry to vent on here but none of my little bit of friends care for animals and think im crazy for bein sooo sad..

Would You Take Your Son To The Doctor To Get Him Check Out For Worms?

I just read the previous question, they said it’s about 98% chance the new puppies comes with worms, I just got a new puppy and didn’t take him to a vet until today, we bought him two weeks ago. My son is one of those child that doesn’t like to wash his hands, and sucking his thumbs. How transmittable are the tape worm and round worms to human? He has been playing with Dog food in the food bawl, should I take him to the Pediatritian without any sign and symptoms?

Has Your Dog Ever Gotten Parasites? (worms) Please Share Your Experience!!!?

I have a 5.5lb, 1yr4mo old male Chihuahua. I took him in for his annual check up and when they did the fecal test they found he had roundworms and FLUKE eggs in his stool. I religiously give him his Interceptor medicine (to prevent heartworm and various worms) but he still had roundworm. What I am concerned about is the FLUKE. In my area the FLUKE (worm) is very very rare and the vet doesn’t know where he picked it up. I have researched and know all about the trasmission through fecal matter…….my little guy is super clean, very well behaved- he doesn’t dig in the dirt, is only outside to go potty only rarely trys to eat stuff (like pieces of bark) off the ground. I closely supervise him and take things out of his mouth he isn’t supposed to have. He does NOT eat raw fish and is not exposed to lake water etc. (some of the possible ways to get Fluke) He is being treated with medicine right now. (He had no symptoms of infection) Please tell me your dogs experience!!! Are they healthy?

Can You Catch Worms From Your Dog?

My dog looks like he has worms so I’m off to get him some panacure today. However, my 5 year old seems to have similar symptoms and I’m awaiting a call back from the health visitor. Is this coincidence or is it related?

What Are Symptoms Of Tape Worms In Your Pet Cat Or Dog?

Symptoms of tapeworm infection
Most tapeworms live in the small intestine of the final host, the cat. Heavy infestations in this area may cause diarrhoea, occasionally vomiting when large sections of the tapeworm may be vomited, unthriftiness and weight loss. More commonly low infestations can ocasionally cause anal irritation with the cat licking and chewing around the anal area or scooting (dragging backside along the ground). This is due to expulsion of the tapeworm segments which due to their sticky nature often attach to the skin and hair around the backside. When they first emerge they have a pearlescent white colour and contract along their length looking at times like a miniature dumb-bell. The contractions of the segment are highly irritating to the cat. After a while they dry and shrivel. A lot of people compare them with a grain of rice which changes from white to yellow with time.
