I adopted a puppy from the SPCA last week. He had shots 3 days before I got him, and I took him to my vet the next day, where he had a shot for rabies and was wormed. Since then he has started sneezing, it is mainly clear “snot” which he licks off his nose immediately. He is very playful, and does not have a temperature. I called the vet, they said he could have allergies, but to be sure I would need ot bring him in. I do not want to spend more on another vet visit if I don;t have to. Anyone know if he could just have a cold, or allergies. He has no other symptoms – no coughing, etc. If it is a cold, how long do they last? Any input would be great . I have other dogs and would hate for them all to get sick.

My cat has been dragging her butt “scooting” on the ground and then I noticed increased trips to the litter box with little urination. She has been more vocal lately but still affectionate. I have had her for four years and she has never once peed on anything but within the last week she has been peeing on blankets and today she peed in the bathtub and I noticed her pee was pinkish she even tried to pee on my sleeping brother. I’m fairly certain this is a UTI. However, that doesn’t explain the scooting. Anyone have any suggestions? I am going to make her an appointment tomorrow for the vet. Anyone have any idea what the cost range will be? Also, my roommates have three dogs and two others were visiting for a while. Im worried the scooting could be from worms. Any other ideas? How long before contact would it take for symptoms to occur? Thank you in advance for any help. I’m very worried. Please assure me she isn’t going to die. She’s only four.

well first of all we figured out that our cat has worms. (were getting a vet as soon as possible), we looked up the symptoms of having worms, this has nothing to do with it.
my cat is NOT nocturnal, or at least i think it is. ever morning my cat meows at my door wanting to get out, but she is already fed, i give her TONS of affection. but she just meows away. the earliest she has woken me was about 5 in the morning. the latest was 7.
THEN
when she gets up in the morning i feed her along with my dog, but whenever my cat is playing (or i think she is) se pounces on my dog. but she pounces on EVERYTHING! she also runs everywhere and when i come up on her she runs like crazy under my bed, but she does that because of me. ha
is there anything wrong with my cat?

I think my puppy has parvo but don’t know for sure. On Monday (christmas eve day) I bought some worming medicine for her and my younger puppy. Abby, the sick one, is around 5 months old; and Nina is like 9 wks old. They are both lab mixes. Anyways, since Nina seemed to have a pretty bad case of worms (we just got her less than 2 wks ago) and it seemed like-despite my efforts to cure Abby of worms- she still seemed to have symptoms of worms like being underweight–so I treated them both with worming medicine. Very soon afterward Abby started acting sickly. She is lethargic, has had smellly diarehha, has discharge from her eyes and has been drooling from the mouth.
I thought she was better this mourning (Friday) because shgot up and opted to drink and I thought ate some dog food but she isn’t. I feel horrible but my boyfriend and I are pretty strapped for cash and can not afford some hugh vet bill. What can you tell me. Any advice would be greatly helpful.

She is 2 years old. For the past year now I’ve been having problems with her…she got Lyme disease and was treated for it but ever since she has had health problems. First she started chewing herself till she would bleed. Vet suggested that it was a food allergy and to try different foods. I tried many different foods. Her skin cleared up and her hair grew back when she was eating Blue Wilderness. 3 months later she starts getting sick. She will go a week or two with normal poop and then she goes thru a day with diarrhea. Then she’s fine again for another week or two before it happens again. I’ve made sure she doesn’t get into anything and she never picks up any thing from the ground outside. She has been checked for worms and all other internal parasites and she doesn’t have either. The vet did say when she had lyme that she did have it very bad. She did have full blown symptoms of Lyme. I only found that one tick on her even tho she had frontline on. What could possibly be wrong so I have an idea of what the vet will end up doing to treat her insted of running unnesicary tests that cost a fortune.
