Hola Ladies! well… This is just a short video of what my bestie Gaby and I did on our Girls Day Out. We donĀ“t often go out together, so when we do we try to have as much fun as possible. We went to the mall and shopped for clothes, then went to hot topics…(thats where I bought the worms), then went to build a bear, and finally went to Mac. After that we went to the outlets and shopped at Coach and later that night went to the movies =) an AWESOME DAY! FTC- I payed for the dog from build a bear and the worms with my own money. All the opinions in the video are honest. I am not being payed to do this video
Question by Dsgnrgrl: Going to work with ringworm?
I just got ringworm from my dog. I didn’t go into work today, because I don’t want to spread it. Since its a short week this week Im wondering if I should just take off tomorrow and Wednesday as well so I can stay home and treat it. I dont want everyone else in the office to catch it.

Question by Leigh: Does canine strongid paste work for whipworms?
I took my dog to the vet today because I’ve been noticing he’s losing weight and I was worried. He is around horses all the time and finds their poo… uh… should I say delectable? Lol. Anyway, I was concerned he had picked something up. The vet did a fecal analysis on him and told me he has whipworms. He gave him 1cc (he weighs 10lbs) of Strongid paste and told me to come back in two weeks. BUT… here’s the kicker…. my aunt is a veterinarian (she just lives 600 miles away) and when I told her the vet gave my dog Strongid she told me Strongid does NOT cover whips. She said something like Panacur would. I have been looking online too and apparently whipworms are VERY resilient. So… what works on whips? My aunt and I got cutoff so I couldn’t get the whole rundown (she was at work). I’m really worried about my dog, I don’t want him to be in pain or feeling sick. Should I go back to the vet and tell them to give me Panacur? Or do you think I should go to another vet instead? I’d think that after 8 years of school and 2 years of interning a good vet should find it hard to screw up a parasite issue. Especially something as common as whipworms!
Let me also add that I JUST moved and this was our first time going to this vet.

Answer by melala Your aunt is correct, Strongid is pyrantel pamoate, which kills rounds and hooks. You need Panacur or Drontal.
Also use Interceptor as your dog’s heartworm prevention, as it not only controls rounds and hooks every month but whips as well.
Question by GetWastedddddd: I understand there is a parasitic symbiotic relationship between mosquitoes/heartworms&dogs; how does it work?
Could you explain to me in details how the mosquitoes infect the dog with heartworms/larvae and how the worms affect the dog once inside the body?? Why has this relationship evolved?? Why did the mosquito begin this behavior?? I understand that it benefits the mosquito, but why did they choose this method??

Answer by silly_girl.has.a.problem I imagine the larvae is carried through it’s proboscis thing into the dogs blood stream. The larvae is carried through the bloodstream to the heart and it hatches. I’m not sure how this relationship evolved. It was probably an instinct since the beginning of time.
