Dog Heartworm Treatment

Question by e p: my dog has heartworms and is pooping out some blood and i saw a small white worm in it.?
my dog has heart worms and i’ve been feeding it this medicine called interceptor. does this mean the medicine is working or something else is wrong?

Question by rchlpack: I just found a small white worm on my cat, right underneath his tail. Can my dog catch them from my cat?
The worm looked like a thin maggot. Does anyone know what kind it is? And do I have to take my cat to the vet, or can I get an over the counter med. Can my dog catch it? If I give my dog medication for worms, but doesn’t have worms, will it harm her?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

I have a eleven month old rottweiler mix. She lives in the backyard with another dog, a boxer. They don’t go anywhere but to the front yard. For a couple of days now, I have seen my rottweiler mix sit and slide on her butt, like if she was itching down there. Today I decided to lift her tail to check what is going on. There were about 3 white worms going in her butt, they looked nasty and she started bitting me so I didn’t look further. What kind of worm could this be? Could it be contagious to humans? I have a two year old boy and I am pregnant. I am worried. The vet will be coming tomorrow but for now I would appreciate any info. Thanks.
she also has a lot of fleas. I have been using that liquid injection to apply every month but it looks like it’s not working anymore.
thank you all. another thing, if she has tapeworms and they are contagious to people through fleas, could we all have the tapeworms since I have found some fleas in our room? Or it will only be contagious if we eat the fleas? Thanks a lot.

I’ve been observing white 1/4 white worm-like things in my dog’s feces. They don’t appear to be moving, and they’re not consistent. They also seem to come out of his anus at night, his bed sometimes has shriveled up little versions of them. They look like small grains of rice. I brought a sample into the vet for a fecal test, and they said he doesn’t have worms. Any ideas on what this could be?
