Ok so ive been worrying about my new 3 year old australian cattle dog that i got from the animal shelter because hes been pretty sick, throwing up, hasn’t eaten hardly anything at all in 3 days, diarrhea with small amount of blood, and really lethargic. Finally convinced my parents to pay to take him to the vet, i had a parvo test and fecal exam done, luckily the parvo that ive been dreading the most came back negative. however he tested positive for a good deal of whipworms in his system, i was given 3 different types of medication for deworming and for his diarrhea, they are… Drontal Plus, Amforal, and Metronidazole. I was really relieved to hear it wasn’t parvo as the vet even said that another dog that came from the shelter he treated tested positive with it. Anyway, unfortunately all this ran about 175 bucks, and we were not able to get a blood test because my parents are having money trouble right now, my question is would a bad case of whip worms cause all these symptoms , or should i have reason to believe their may be more wrong?
DeadGame, i dont know what you mean by scatter shot, i never said he had a blood test, he didnt, just fecal and parvo test

A heavy infestation of parasites would cause all of the above symptoms.

The Drontal Plus will treat the whips as well as other worm types .
The Metronidazole is for treating giardia
The Amforal is used to treat enteritis.

I went to pick up after my Ridgeback 9 month old the other day in the backyard … one of his pieces had white squiggling things in it. Bigger than maggots but shorter than worms … could this have grown inside there on it’s own from my backyard insects or is this something in my dog’s belly?

Your dog likely has worms.. You should take him to the vet, get the worm diagnosed properly and treat the worm with the proper medication.

I’m so freaked out! I change my dog’s water on a weekly basis and we found like five of these little worm-like bugs (they were like a greenish color) and were just swimming around in the corner of the water dish… what are they?! Should I be worried?!

I’m so freaked out! I change my dog’s water on a weekly basis and we found like five of these little worm-like bugs (they were like a greenish color) and were just swimming around in the corner of the water dish… what are they?! Should I be worried?!

What Do These Symptoms Sound Like In My Dog? Vet Said It’s Nothing But She Seems In Pain…?

She’s been scooting. I know that can be anal sacs needing drained. The vet did that a couple weeks ago, and said really they didn’t even need it.
The dog was still scooting when she got home. I also had a worm test done, and it came back negative. Sometimes she eats grass too, which I know can be a sign of stomach issues. She vomits once and a while too. I’m going to have another vet look at her, just wondered if anyone had any natural remedies or if it sounded like anything in particular. It cost me around $400 last time I had this checked (2 weeks ago) and it will be another month before I can afford that again. I’ve tried cleaning the area with vinegar which helps some.

Does Anyone Know What These Symptoms Could Be In My Kitten? – Sneezing And Bald Spots?

I just got a new kitten last week, and the person I got her from had 4 cats that gave birth. One of their cats kittens would always die, from every litter it ever had, and one of the symptoms that those kittens would get, is they would start getting little bald patches. When my kitten first came home, she was perfectly fine. On the second day she was here, I noticed that she was sneezing every few minutes. A few days later, I noticed a little bald patch on one of her paws, and then I noticed a slightly bigger bald patch on her chest. She also has two smaller bald patches on two of her toes on her back feet (the two inner toes). Also, a few days ago, she woke up and couldn’t open one of her eyes. She had gunk in it, and we had to wipe it out for her. I think I saw what looked like worms in her butt. I also have a dog that she is always playing with. Somebody please let me know if they know what this could be, or if it is contagious, so I can keep her away from my dog!
