Question by Whitney H: How can I get rid of fleas and tapeworms on my dog?
I put Frontline on her every 3 weeks, but I have been seeing some flea dirt in her bed. I also noticed she has tapeworms so obviously she has fleas. What else can I do to get rid of the fleas?
Also- is there a good tapeworm medication I can get over the counter, like at Petsmart?

Perhaps it’s time to get serious and take the dog to the bleeding VET?
(unless you wanna harvest the tapeworm and sell them to the over weight females, of course)

Question by Danie E: I think my dog has tapeworms but I am seeing long pieces come out in her stool. How do I know what kind of wor
How do I know what kind of worm it is? I had over the counter wormer in my house but it said it was for roundworms and hookworms. The tapeworm is described as being seen in small dried pieces. This doesn’t look like roundworm as she has had that before but there aren’t any tiny/small pieces like described in tapeworm. Only long ones. Help?

Take the dog to the vet, or at least bring in a stool sample, so that they can check to see what kind of worms they are.

Question by violet: how to kill tapeworms in a pregnant dog?
My female dog has tapeworm and is 40 days pregnant. Any ideas on how to get rid of them before I ask the vet?

More than likely, your vet will tell you that there is not anything that you can do until after whelping. Unfortunately, there are no products on the market that are approved for worming a pregnant or nursing dog.

Question by lnacantu: What causes tapeworms in puppies?
Do dogs get tapeworms from eating their fleas?
I have gotten a treatment from my local vet for my puppies tapeworms. I also attempted to disinfect my home in case there may be any eggs laying around. I have also had my puppy groomed and his butt shaved clean, as he is a long haired dog. I’m just worried that there may be a reinfestation even though he’s been treated. Is this likely to happen?

of course I don’t know if it is true…and I would like to find the REAL answer to the problem of aquiring them as well…but I was told growing up that your pup can get them from eating food off the ground (may be an old wives tail) but I’d like it if anyone could say if their is any truth to it?

Question by stardust23716: Treated dog for tapeworms… where do the dead worms go?
I found tapeworm infection in my dogs fecal matter. I treated her with Droncit. My question is, once the worming medicine starts to work, where do the dead worms/worm segments go? Will it come out in her poop or what?
Also, are there any preventive steps at home I should be taking to avoid my 2nd dog getting tapeworm? Can they still play together, etc? My 2nd dog has no signs or symptoms and has normal fecal matter.
Knowledgeble answers only please! Thanks

yes the worms are supposed to come out in the poop witch is a very very good thing if the worms are puke out tho there may be a bigger problem
