How do I know what kind of worm it is? I had over the counter wormer in my house but it said it was for roundworms and hookworms. The tapeworm is described as being seen in small dried pieces. This doesn’t look like roundworm as she has had that before but there aren’t any tiny/small pieces like described in tapeworm. Only long ones. Help?

Take the dog to the vet, or at least bring in a stool sample, so that they can check to see what kind of worms they are.

Those would be tapeworm segments if they are about the size and shape of a grain of rice. You would not be able to see whipworms. A dewormer will rid her of those.

Question by Sandy G: My dog had a (1) worm in his vomit but none in his stool, what should I do?
I have a 1.5 year old yellow lab who was eating grass for the last couple of days. This morning he vomited and had 1 (looked like spagetty worm) in his vomit and then just grass. I have found no worms in his stool. Does this mean he has worms and should be treated, or maybe injested this one and now is gone? That might sound silly, but there were just no worms in his stool at all. Thanks
