Tapeworm crawling from the anus of a dog. This dog presented at the veterinary clinic with an injury and this was an incidental finding. The dog had not been wormed for sometime. The dog was treated and the owner informed on parasite control.

Answer by BGKC You should be using dewormer under the guidance of your vet. Ask him/her, who knows your dogs health history and who can do an exam to determine if it is necessary, rather than taking the advice of internet strangers.
Heartworm preventative is given on a monthly basis, again, under the guidance and prescription of a veterinarian.
