Question by Pointless: I have a dog that has round worms. Is there any way to get rid of the parasites in the dirt in the dog pen?
I have 4 other dogs. I’m aware that the other dogs can get these roundworms. I’m also aware that the parasites from the roundworms live in the dirt. We have a dog pen that all the dogs use. So my question is, is there any chemical that I can buy to spray in the dog pen to get rid of these parasites that are coming from the roundworms?

Please Help!

Yes it could very much be roundworm in fact you described them perfectly. They will do a fecal test on your dog and give medication. I know there is worming medications available over the counter not sure if its for round or ring worm though. Make sure you clean your yard very well dogs get it from Consuming infective worm eggs from soil in the environment (generally through normal grooming,Nursing from an infected mother dog,Consuming a prey animal (usually rodent) that is carrying developing worms or are born with it if the mom is infected

Question by XZELSOR: How long does it take for hook worm and round worm larvae to hatch inside a dog?

Best answer:

Answer by Allecto1985
hookworm and roundworm larvae don’t hatch in the dogs intestine. The adults lay eggs, which are then passed out of the dog through feces.
For hookworm, the eggs hatch into larvae in 2-10 days depending on the temperature and then either burrow back through the dogs skin or are ingested (usually from the dog licking his paws after walking over an area where he defacates). where they mature to adults, attach to the dogs intestine and start the whole process over again.
Roundworm eggs take about a month to develop into larvae in the environment but when they hatch and are reingested by the dog (again, usually by the dog licking it’s paws after walking on an area where he defacates). This is why dogs should be wormed monthly. If you’re using heartgard plus, it has a wormer in the tablet too, so you would already be worming your dogs

Question by suemc657: Can you give a dog tapeworm and round worm medicine at the same time?
I gave my 7 month old puppy evict ds on Saturday
but he has tapeworms not roundworms
can I give him the tapeworm medicine or do I have to wait

Best answer:

Answer by mami3jc
If you bought worm medicine from a petstore, and not from your vet, you are wasting your money.

Those medications just don’t work. Go to your vet and get the correct medication that you need.

Yes you should wait at least a week before you switch medications.
