Question by Dandygirl: How long does it take for ring worm to go away in dogs?
I am fostering two two week old puppies that were recently diagnosed with ringworm. They just started treatment and I am wondering how long it takes for it to go away.
Thanks!

Not sure about that but it is very contagious. YOu could catch it by touching the pups. YOu may need to wear gloves. and make sure their bedding is washed separately. It can be picked up from that too.

Question by Kari: Is there any over the counter treatment for ring worm on dogs?
My girlfriend took in a dog that was running the nieghborhood last week and when I was over there yesturday it looks as if the dog has ringworm. (Small round spots about 6 from what I could see yesturday) Is there an over the counter treatment or will she have to take the dog to the vet? Her husband just left her with 2 kids and he took all the money out of the account before he left. I am willing to pay the vet bill if that is what has to happen. I did tell her it is spreadalbe to her and the kids so she has the dog sectioned off in a small part of the house right now. Any suggestions?
Thank you to everyone that has provided information!!!!

I think you can use any anti fungile medicine (athletes foot meds) But I still would take the dog in and have the vet look at it. Good luck

forever if you don’t treat it. also it is contagious ppl. can get ringworm from pets. call your vet it’s easily treated if you follow your vet’s instructions, but pls. dont leave your dog go untreated that’s inhumane!!
