Puppy Mills Suck-Trinity’s story

If you think that purchasing a puppy from a pet store is a good idea, Trinity is proof positive of what actually happens to these poor puppies. Trinity was shipped to a local pet store from a puppy mill in Iowa and somehow was injured an entire week ago. Trinity was NOT taken to the vet, she was placed into the back room waiting for the puppy mill truck to arrive so that she could be shipped back home to an almost certain death. Trinity has been x-rayed and it seems she has suffered some sort of nerve damage in her right hip making that leg useless. Not only was Trinity injured, she is emaciated, has kennel cough, is full of intestinal parasites and has atrophy of the muscles in her hind legs. We will try to build up the muscles in her good leg after which time, in all likelihood Trinity will lose her right hind leg due to complete negligence. Watch the video of Trinity and try to justify purchasing any animal from a pet store so that another Trinity can take their place in that small cage. Watch Trinity’s tail never stop wagging and how very hard she is trying to walk. Trinity is not available for adoption now but we wanted to share her story. . How very sad this baby has to suffer for the almighty dollar that puppy mills and pet stores are in constant pursuit of. We hope that by seeing Trinity that if we stop even ONE purchase from a pet store, it will be worth it. Do all of the puppies a favor and do NOT shop at any store that sells these poor animals.

Patches was dumped in a wire cage at a pet store with two other cavies. He stays in my garden when the weather isn’t cold or rainy and has plenty of shade, water and a box fan. At night he goes into his hutch. Here he’s having a bowl of feed, though he free grazes all day and during the night as his hutch has a fenced area to let him eat grass as he pleases. He does have itchy issues, which he’s never gotten over in the year I’ve had him and a scraping at the vet clinic ruled out parasites, etc. *PLEASE don’t email me about how much happier he’d be indoors, as he hates coming inside when it rains or is cold. Gypsy the pit bull terrier was introduced onlead to the guinea pigs and obeys the “Leave it!” command, though I would never trust a predator like her not to chase an animal when I’m not standing over her. Gypsy’s a lazy old thing and prefers to be indoors when given the chance. I’m amazed how the majority of search words used to find this video involve “pit bull attack” and “snake attack guinea pig”. It takes much more animal knowledge and training ability to condition a predator NOT to attack prey animals. There’s nothing “natural” about caged predators anyway, that’s just an excuse for one’s moral degeneration. Yuck.

Question by Javier: I just got a new mattress and the dog peed on it. My puppy has hookworms. Must I throw away the mattress?
Another thing if someone accidentally steps in the pups stool(bare foot) what is the chance the person will get hookworms?
Thank you for you’re help. And I’m in the process of deworming my pup. I give her medicine. I can’t get her the shots till the 11th of next month. So I’ve been giving her meds since I got her.

Hookworms are passed through the stool. That said- if the puppy PEED on the mattress you should be safe from hookworms.

Hookworms I believe CAN be transmitted through the skin- so I would make sure to wash your foot thoroughly and to bleach the area as best as possible in a 1:10 concentration. (1 part bleach to 10 parts water.)

If you start to notice any signs of abdominal cramping, anemia, upset stomach, diarrhea, etc- get yourself to a doctor and make sure to mention your pup had hookworms.

Question by Genie?Angel: Can a puppy that has parasites pass them on to humans?
I brought my new puppy home and he has diarrhea. (or soft stools.. soft yellow… did it right in the kennel carrier I brought him home in)! (He also vomited but that MAY have been due to car sickness or nervous stomach).

Of course, I handled him a lot and he’d squiggle and quickly lick my mouth before I knew it.

I had made an appt with the vet and then got VERY SICK myself… so I couldn’t take him. I had profuse violent water streaking diarrhea for 2 solid days straight and vomiting. I was so weak I stayed in bed for 2 days, I could barely get up.

I am OK now.

It could have been a coincidence of getting a stomach virus, but is it possible for puppies to pass on parasites, such as giardia, tapeworms, flukes, whipworms, coccidia, etc. to humans….

and other pets in the household, including both dogs and cats?

Thanks

P.S. I once had chronic giardia for over a year, couldn’t get rid of it … finally did… never did find out HOW I got it 10 years ago
Thank you. I am bring a stool sample to the vet tomorrow.

If he has something can he pass something on to my other dog or my cat?
