The French Heart worm is spread by eating snails. The worm larva found in the snail migrate from the dogs intestines to reach the heart where the worms develope to maturity. Larval worms then leave the heart, enter the lungs and are coughed up. In this case some of the larvae have migrated to the eye. Both eyes contain live worms which are removed surgically. Our puppy just passed worms in her stool. We just got her and just took her to the vet today. She got her ringworm med just today. (She won’t eat it, so I have to contact the vet Monday). Anyway, what did you do when you found out your dog had worms and what advice can you give me? Is it common?
My 2 year old dog is on Interceptor monthly. My new puppy has been dewormed and is passing worms in his poop (I have been cleaning it up from the yard). Can my older dog get worms if he is on Interceptor?
