Every vet I know has a person to cover for them. Call your vets number and get in touch with them and get the pups some meds.

Question by Kel Kel: Can I use one type of heart worm medicine on my dog one month and another type the next month?
We used revolution on my dog this month but want to switch to interceptor starting next month when her next dose is due. Is it safe to switch meds like that?
Thank you. I will talk to my vet first but was just curious in the mean time.

I don’t think it should be a problem. Maybe check and see what each medication contains just to make sure they are similar and not risk your dog having an allergic reaction to the new product. Hope this helps.

We just adopted a stray, 14 lb, 3 year old mutt (possible cockapoo) that just tested positive for heartworms. The good news is that it won’t cost NEAR as much as I thought, the bad news is, she is too skinny to be treated and we’ll have to wait a month.
She is very lethargic and sleeps so much of the time. Is this a symptom? Could she be in a later stage of heartworm disease? I can’t stand the thought of this sweet little girl’s heart full of adult worms. It’s killing me! How can I get her to gain weight quickly so we can do the test soon and I wonder if she’s in pain or if I can make her more comfortable.
