Question by chrissy: Suggestions for keeping meds on the dogs face?
My pup has a nasty case of ringworm on her face. I have applied the cream to her face to heal it, but she insists on licking it off. Unfortunately it is in a location that she can lick it off. I have tried to rub it in all the way, but she will lick away on that spot.

Answer by Maureen M There are muzzle type devices that will prevent a dog from being able to lick. Check with your vet.
Question by Hat Trick – Agnostic Missionary: My dog has ringworm and the vet prescribed meds that cost 350$ ! WTF?!?!?
Should I try to get treatment somewhere else? The dog looks to be in PERFECT health, except for a small leison in her ear. I looked online and apparently some people treat it with head & shoulders shampoo and other cheap OTCs. Anyways since I’m not made of money just wanted to check before doling out the cash.
The vet called the meds into Walgreens, and yes this is meds only. What is really bizarre is she has a tiny spot of it. She was getting her check up and shots and we actually pointed it out to our vet to see what this spot in her ear was… anyways I’m starting to think that our vet is just crazy because I spoke with him later on the phone and he asked me if I had a cat which was totally stunning because he had just performed a surgery on my cat 2 weeks earlier!

Question by faqpro: how long does it take a dog to pass out tapeworms after he took meds for it?
A few weeks ago 3-4 weeks we gave my dog tapeworm meds, Yesterday i found tapeworms in his stool, is he still passing it out or is it most likely my other dog’s?

Answer by My Pits A Lover Not A Fighter I’m not 100% sure but I think he could still be passing them. When my dog had tapeworms the vet gave her one pill that day and the next one she had to take 3-4 weeks later. She didnt pass anymore after that but that’s probably why they give you the second treatment, to make sure they’re all gone. But it’s always best to ask the vet. A phone call is free.
