Question by V-Ronkz: what do the stages of ringworm look like in dogs?
yesterday I noticed my 7 month old puppy had an unusual, flat, blood red spot the size of a pea on his belly, and figured he got it from rough-housing with my other dog when they play together. This morning when I got up I noticed that it had changed. now it’s a small red speck in the middle and a ring around it a little smaller than a dime, and it is still completely flat. I’m worried this may be ringworm, does anyone know?
also could it be lyme disease? because of the dot in the middle? (the “bull’s eye”)

Ringworm can only be diagnosed under a microscope. Many vets are open on Saturday and as contageous as ringworm is, If there is even the slightest chance it is ringworm, go immediately. The dog would be spreading it all over the place without treatment.

There is a heartworm, tick, flea, mite medication called revolution. It does it all call a vet and get some.

My 1yr. old has an almost perfect circle on his cheek and it’s red. It just appeared today and has not gone away. I also have a dog in the house that was diagnosed with ringworm last week and is now on medication. I’m scared that my little guy has caught the ringworm from my dog…but I can’t tell for sure if that’s what it is.

It is extremely dry in our house so the spot could also be just a dry patch of skin. How long does it take to notice if it’s just a typical dry patch or if it’s something more?

I think it’s ringworm. My preschooler had it a few years ago. Take him to a doctor as soon as possible for a prescription. My son still has a a slight scar from the ringworm.
