Doreen laying down

Serafina serafinaballerina.blogspot.com and Doreen httphave been in foster care with Illinois Birddog Rescue-illinoisbirddogrescue.org for about 2 years now. They were rescued off of a mountain in Arkansas where they had been living in squalor. When they first came in they were both in need of major vetting and TLC from their years of neglect, poor living conditions and over breeding. They didn’t know what love was- but now they do!! Serafina is the most animated of the pair and has a ton of personality. Doreen will always be quiet and laid back in the home; she certainly deserves to feel safe after all she went through before she came into rescue. Gilligan http was rescued from a shelter in Southern Illinois. He had suffered a lot of neglect and malnutrition and we weren’t sure if he was going to make it. Not only was he loaded with intestinal parasites, but he also had a severe case of heartworm disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and probably also survived Parvo. Gilli definitely showed some brain damage from all he went through- but now he is healthy and is sweet as they come. Follow up chiropractic appointments have helped with his brain function and as he is food motivated, he should be a fun dog to train for someone who can overlook his handicap.

Question by Lisa Christine: I found a worm where my dog was laying but I use heartgard. What to do?
I was just laying with my dog on my bed and when he got up there was a tiny white-ish worm were his butt was. I put the worm in a container just in case. I got him two months ago and he was clean and I use heartgard plus. I can’t call my vet until Monday but should I be worried?

Yes he might have worms, take the worm to the doctor and they’ll probably deworm him. Don’t play with those sort of things! :)
