Mom keeps bringing home strays!
A purebred Great Pyrenees found us, he’s a really good example of the breed. Someone paid some good money for him. He has a really bad cherry-eye (a simple fix for something common to purebred dogs), Heartworm Disease, heavy hookworm infestation, some broken teeth and both ears are infected. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, 9/21. He will be neutered as well as getting a dental and cherry-eye repair. He’ll also get a better haircut, not a good one, just a better one…lol. I am so glad that I work for this organization where I can help animals (in particular dogs – they’re special to me). I’ve been here for over 10 years, and I never regret doing what I do. I’ve done a little bit of everything and worked with all kinds of people, so it’s been really rewarding. I guess if I do a rescue on my weekend and it feels like work, it’s just something I have to deal with because it’s who I am. Haha – instead of the kids bringing home strays, it’s Mom bringing them home!
