I think it’s ringworm – no clue where she got it, but she’s going to the vet tomorrow for a diagnosis and treatment. I am wondering what I should do to treat areas in my home if it is ringworm. She does sleep on wall to wall carpeting and she’s allowed on my sofa (fabric). I will wash her bed in hot water and bleach, but wondering how to treat the carpet and sofa.
If you’ve had a pet with ringworm, what did the lesions look like? Were they really scabby/scaly? Did your pet itch? Where were the lesions? All of my dog’s are on her back and she doesn’t seem bothered by them at all.

I got a new puppy two weeks ago. I took her to the vet and found she had both type of worms. She will be taking a new medication for it starting monday night. She has had a few accients in the house, and I always clean them properly. I wash my hands before cooking and such, but I am worried the larva live sin my carpet or oher places in my house. She goes poddy in the front yard until she is clear and can go in the backyard with my older dog as I do not want him to get it. how do I keep my house clean? How likely is it that me or my son can catch this? very scary stuff. never had to deal with this before. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP.

Answer by Susan B If you have cleaned up after the dog, there is no risk in your house. The worms live outside in the soil not in carpets. After they leave the body of the dog, if not in the ground outside, they will die.

Answer by nirvanagrlb bad if you dont clean them up Get some disanfecdent spray and some gloves and if it aint house trained then put him out sied every couple of hours its really unhealthy!
