roundworms can be picked up from flea eggs, and other dogs stool, where theres one theres more, because shes got a heart condition take her to the vets with a stool sample to make sure they are roundworms firstly then to get the correct medication and dosage that would be safe.

Question by rchlpack: I just found a small white worm on my cat, right underneath his tail. Can my dog catch them from my cat?
The worm looked like a thin maggot. Does anyone know what kind it is? And do I have to take my cat to the vet, or can I get an over the counter med. Can my dog catch it? If I give my dog medication for worms, but doesn’t have worms, will it harm her?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Question by Lisa Christine: I found a worm where my dog was laying but I use heartgard. What to do?
I was just laying with my dog on my bed and when he got up there was a tiny white-ish worm were his butt was. I put the worm in a container just in case. I got him two months ago and he was clean and I use heartgard plus. I can’t call my vet until Monday but should I be worried?

Yes he might have worms, take the worm to the doctor and they’ll probably deworm him. Don’t play with those sort of things! :)

Two hours ago I found a small dog outside my house and I’ve put him in my bathroom for the night since he doesn’t have a collar and I can’t reach animal control at this hour. He really looks like he belongs somewhere because he looks healthy but I just found out he has these long pink worm looking things coming out of is anus. Although I’m taking him to the shelter tomorrow I have two dogs at home and a cat and I want to make sure they won’t get infected with whatever he has. So if anyone has any idea what it may be and any information regarding how contagious it is please tell me. Thanks!
