A long long time ago, people were afraid of the ghosts and goblins that live in the forest, so when a young man and his wife get lost, they are very afraid, but when they get fed up being scared so they turn the tables on the hjosts and goblins by putting on spooky costumes and scaring them right back. But the ghosts and goblins they scare and really the villagers who’ve come looking for their friends, and in the end, they all decided they’ve found a wonderful new tradition: dressing up and saying….BOO! Question by Poppy7: Has anyone ever had to treat a dog for heartworms?
I understand all about heartworms and I just adopted a dog that is heartworm positive. Now I have an appointment to get her treated.
How can I keep her from going stir-crazy in a cage for 2 weeks; then after that she can come out but can’t play or run. I have three other dogs that will be doing all this, but this dog won’t be able to. How can we stand it? Any ideas for how to keep her occupied while “in jail”? Games we could play, etc.

Answer by Teresa V My dog broke her leg and needed a cast for 8 weeks followed by 2 additional weeks of no running or jumping so she had to be in puppy jail and she had never been crate trained (I think it’s mean) but in this situation she had to be. We gave her extra nylabones and other chew toys that she liked and wouldn’t get too active with. She also knew that she was supposed to be calm (at least when the cast and cone were on). Once the cast got off she was pretty much miserable for two weeks because she wanted to run with the other dogs again but would be scolded when she did. Poor thing is back to normal now and happy as ever!!

Safe remedy for fleas and ticks, as well as other parasites. These have no short or long term health effects and I have included great resources. Video Rating: 4 / 5
This poor fella was found Wed. July 16, 2008 lying in a yard. He is starving, dehydrated, his belly is full of parasites, he’s dehydrated, his gums are pale, etc. He was left there to die. I had these same folks busted in Nov. ‘06 for animal cruelty. They allowed a chained puppy with no shelter, food, or water, to starve. They had another puppy chained to a fence with no food, water, or shelter. Escambia County Animal Control came out back then and took the puppies. The emaciated one died from his condition in the shelter. The other one was euthanized after the court case. He would have been euthanized anyway since the county doesn’t adopt out pit bulls. Today, I was not going to allow a repeat of those tragedies. I whisked him away from that yard and took him home for treatment. He’s a red nose pit about 5 to 6 weeks old. He has such beautiful eyes. If ever a pup deserved a great home, it would be him. For more info, contact: spayem1@aol.com Video Rating: 4 / 5
Question by AcdRed: Has anyone ever used parsley to clear intestinal parasites from dogs?
Has anyone ever had parsley water clear their dogs of intestinal parasites? I just read this online and I have never heard of it before.
Just for clarification… My dogs are not having any problems it’s just something I read. I would never try it.

Answer by Adam T There are a lot of these holistic methods of treatments out there, but very few of them are very effective. I also don’t think the taste of parsley would agree with a dog. The best thing to do is go get a dose of dewormer (strongid, drontal, droncit, etc.) from your veterinarian. They’re fairly cheap, and will do a much better job, and keep your dog much healthier.
