its a bumpy , the spot itself is a large circle, the bumps are small ones like a rash. Any remedies? Is it ringworm>? Low on cash, cant go to vet.

Question by deenooo: My dog has ringworm why don’t i?
My dog got a bump on her arm. I took her to the vet, and the doctor told me it could be cancer. Shes barely a year old. Jack Russell. Anyways. I mentioned, well she has this weird little bits of hair sticking up, i thought it was just in grown hair, but I think there is a bump there too. SO she told me it is possible that it is ringworm.
I had them shave the spot and there was a round bump. They told me i HAD to get her tested or they wouldnt prescribe a medication for it, because apparently ringworm doesnt always look like a ring when it is an animal. So they tested it called said it is showing signs of ring worm. have not heard from them since.
My question is, if it is ringworm, and it is as contagious as everyone says, Why have I not gotten it? My family, and my sister’s dog have been around her. She is all over me all the time, in my bed rolling in my covers, using the carpet to scratch, why has no one else gotten it?? IS it possible it is something else? By the way the bump has gone, but looks like a scratch now, that is going away. I have been putting athletes foot cream on her, because it is what Walgreens told me is the cheaper version of ringworm ointment.

But they found out that the virus was only harmful to monkeys. This is the same case with your dog. There are certain viruses that infect certain animals. But viruses can also transform and become very nasty and become contagious to more than just that animal. But this is not likely if your pet does not spread it to another dog and is treated.
also, ringworm in a fungal disease so make sure the cream you put on is anti fungal. This is probably what you have but make sure.
