I’ve never had to deal with worm/parasite issues. . . . so i am wondering if this is a parasite. . . . i was changing my dog’s water today and there was a small (lengh of a dime) white catipillar looking worm in the dish. it had large eyes that reminded me of an embryo. . .. it doesn’t look like any stage of tape worm round worm, or hook worm. . . . . is it just a coincidence??? ( we have tent worms from the trees now, did my dogs just get ahold of a baby one and it fell out of their mouth while drinking?????
any help would be great. Please don’t say “take to a vet”. If this sounds like a parasite, believe me, the dog WILL go to the vet. . . I just would like to avoid an intial visit if this doesn’t remotely sound like any type of parasite anyone’s heard of. and if no one is sure, is there other symptoms of my dog having a parasite???? Please be speedy as the dog has been separated from my children ( much to their dismay) until I can make sure that wasn’t a worm.

My chihuahua pup seems to spend an awful lot of time licking her butthole, and I don’t know why. Does she have a problem with her anus, or does she simply like the smell/taste? According to the symptoms I have looked up, she does not have worms.

He is an 11 year old Cockerspaniel/Terrier mix. He is coughing a lot, it listless, can’t sit still, very tired a lot, is making weird noises when he breathes. Have you ever had a dog with heartoworm and, if so, did he or she have these symptoms and how did you cure it (what was the cost)?
