Question by clmh: Should I take care of my daughter’s dog that has round worm, I am worried my dog & cat will get it too?
I promised a relative that I would take care of her 2 dogs for 10 days from now. I will have the dogs for 5 days.

Tonight she just told me she found a large round worm in her dogs stool. She will take it to the vet tomorrow. Now I don’t want either of those dogs near my pets or defecating in my yard.

I doubt if she could take the dog to a kennel with worms. If the dog is wormed do you think it would be safe to let her be around my pets?

Yeah she is getting them started on worming tomorrow. 10 days from now you get the dogs. When her dogs are in the yard and poop, clean up after them immediately. Even tho they are likely going to be done shedding the worms, get it cleaned up and out of there.
Your dogs are older?? It’s likely they aren’t going to get it anyhow. Round worm is a worm that mostly young dogs get from their mom, older dogs tend to be relatively immune to picking them up.

Round worm isn’t a biggy anyhow. Tell her you’ll take her dogs, But if your dogs do happen to get the worm, then she is responsible for having them treated.
