Mudvayne – Heard It All Before

Music video by Mudvayne performing Heard It All Before. (C) 2010 Sony Music Entertainment
Video Rating: 4 / 5

Serafina serafinaballerina.blogspot.com and Doreen httphave been in foster care with Illinois Birddog Rescue-illinoisbirddogrescue.org for about 2 years now. They were rescued off of a mountain in Arkansas where they had been living in squalor. When they first came in they were both in need of major vetting and TLC from their years of neglect, poor living conditions and over breeding. They didn’t know what love was- but now they do!! Serafina is the most animated of the pair and has a ton of personality. Doreen will always be quiet and laid back in the home; she certainly deserves to feel safe after all she went through before she came into rescue. Gilligan http was rescued from a shelter in Southern Illinois. He had suffered a lot of neglect and malnutrition and we weren’t sure if he was going to make it. Not only was he loaded with intestinal parasites, but he also had a severe case of heartworm disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and probably also survived Parvo. Gilli definitely showed some brain damage from all he went through- but now he is healthy and is sweet as they come. Follow up chiropractic appointments have helped with his brain function and as he is food motivated, he should be a fun dog to train for someone who can overlook his handicap.

Question by k_zell: Should I introduce my dog to the rescue dog before he goes to the vet?
Getting a rescue dog tomorrow that has been extremely negected. And was wondering if I should introduce him to my other dog tomorrow or wait until the new dog sees a vet. Are there diseases or parasites that a dog can transfer to another? Don’t want my old dog to get sick from the rescue dog, if that is possible. Thanks.

Is your current dog up to date with vaccinations (it should be)?

I’m assuming you are getting your rescue dog from a centre. They should have made sure he is fit enough to go to a new home and is vaccinated, so you ought to be OK.

Yes. They will be able to recommend the correct medicine for your dog. You don’t have to buy it from the vet, however.

Question by Debbie: How many symptoms of Heart worm do dogs get before it is too late to help them?
My 8 year old dog has almost all the symptoms of heart worm (weight loss, occasional cough, doesn’t run around like she used to). My mom thinks it is too late to help her. I don’t want to put her to sleep if I don’t have to. What is the chance of her living if we give her the treatment? Is there such a thing as “too late to help” her?

This is something you need to ask the vet. Since it’s now quite apparent that heart worms do strike in your area the next time you get a dog get it on a preventative.

It’s always been my understanding that once obvious symptoms have appeared it’s probably too late for any kind of guarantee of treatment. Talk to the vet. It may not even be heartworm, but it is NOT fair to let the dog suffer while the family plays the “guess the mystery disease” game.
