There is 11 cc in the syringe he gave me. 1 was given at the doctors. So actually she has 10 weeks to go. 11 all together. I noticed the blue specks in her stool after her first stool after taking the medicine. She had a had done it 41/2 hours after taking the med.

To be sure, ALWAYS consult your veterinarian.
Blue speckles? I work with lots of infested dogs and usually just see worms coming out in their stool. Although, hook can be hard to see sometimes. We don’t generally give treatment for 12 weeks, but there are different meds that do different things.
Be on the safe side. Talk to a vet professional.

Question by TropyWife: Noticed a tapeworm in my dogs feces this AM. He does not have fleas and has always been on Frontline. My other
dog does not have them. They are both indoor shih-tzus and only go out to poop. I will take to Vet on Monday. How do dogs get tapeworms w/no fleas on them?
Can their owners get tapeworms from dog?

Just because there is not a flea at that time, doesn’t mean there never has been. The fleas can still bite your dog, but are then killed by the drug.
I don’t believe you can get the worms from them, but I’m not positive on that.

Question by Ollie’s Mom: My dog has hookworms and has been treated….can I still allow him to sleep on my bed?
Had my dog in today for a Vet check and found hookworms. He has been given medication. Is it safe to allow him to continue to sleep on my bed?

The hookworms are passed in the stool. As long as you are really clean when he defecates, make sure he doesn’t get the poop on him and doesn’t have any left over on his butt, make sure that he doesn’t poop in your bed, you should be okay…although I wouldn’t be kissing him anytime soon either.

Question by Hannah: My dog has been diagnosed with parasites?
My dog has been diagnosed with parasites! I took him to the vet and they tested his blood and then they said he had medicine for him. So he has to take medicine for it. Is there anything that might go wrong? Is something bad gonna happen to him? Will he die? Will there be anything that I need to know about parasites? How long does it last for? What happens when a dog gets parasites? Please give any information and pictures of parasites. Best answer gets 10 points. And last of all what can I do to not get parasites from my dog? and can he be in public places (to the park, riding in the car with me, on walks) and can he be around other dogs? (animals) Are parasites dangerous? Should I be worried?

Technically there a re a lot of kinds of parasites. A parasite just means it lives off a host. It can be as simple as ear mites, fleas, or worms or something harder to treat like heartworms. I’m sure there are many others out there. I would check with the vet that diagnosed him on these things and to see when he can be socialized, as you don’t want to spread anything to other animals. It’s hard to give much clearer of an answer without knowing what parasite is attacking the dog.
