People, I did not actually give my dog a piece of chocolate cake. It was a question to test knowledge, not to prove that I’m an idiot. I know that a living animal such as a worm can’t appear out of thin air but you would be surprised how many people think that worms can come from fresh human food.

okay, so my dog is a dachshund… he’s always had big ***. i thought it was funny til i found out that the thing it has to be drained. recently, his nipple has been swelling. it’s really red and twice the size of his other nipples. but he was so healthy so i thought it just got irritated. then yesterday, he’s been stretching like this http://www.pergament.net/images/dogStretch.jpg and stays like that for minutes. he lost weight in just a snap and he hasn’t been standing up eversince. can anyone tell me what the hell’s happening to my dog? does he have a worm or something? what are the signs and symptoms?

So today after my dog didn’t get better from her bland diet, i took her to the vet. I had originally thought it was due to switching her food too quickly, but she didn’t get better. My vet was great and squeezed me in to do a stool sample reading. They couldn’t find anything, but from the symptoms think it’s work and since they only shed their eggs every three days, they think they could have missed them. So what should i expect? My vet was so busy i couldn’t get all my questions in. Also should she just rest or can i treat her fairly normal? She seems a little more tired than normal, but that may be due to not sleeping well (she gets me up at 4:30 am and has to go out, and then we only sleep till 8 after that).

There were little treats on the floor and I did not know there were worms in them and he was eating them. Then I looked at the treats and there were little worms in them. I am worried. I think he ate about 4 or 5 little worms. Do you they he will be ok? What are the symptoms of worms in a dogs stomach?
