Gudis the Beagle

www.petrescuebyjudy.com This is Gudis, a most unusual Beagle. Why do I say unusual? Well, he doesn’t ACT like a Beagle. Ok, ok, I admit it, I’m not a great lover of the breed. I find that they are a little too hyper and vocal for my taste. But Gudis obviously never read the Beagle Manual. He is neither hyper nor vocal. I mean, he’s like totally awesome! (um, that was my Valley Girl imitation) Here’s the scoop on how Gudis. We got a phone call from Mary Beth, the administrator of Seminole County Animal Control. She had a severe overflow of pets, was facing putting several to sleep, would we please come save some???? Ah, what the heck, why not? We’re optimists by nature! We got there and Mary Beth trotted out a Shih Tzu, Maltese, Chihuahua, Lhasa Apso,… Then Mary Beth looked at us hopefully and asked, “Would you take a Beagle?” ~ she knows their reputation too. Well, in for a penny, in for a pound! But then out came Gudis, slowly walking, head down, sorrowful eyes. I couldn’t help but wonder if he thought he was taking the last long walk…. We loaded all the other dogs into crates but didn’t have one for Gudis. Jan said, “He can sit next to me.” Into the van he jumped. Once we started going, he gave Jan a hopeful look, put his front paws up on her lap, looked out the window, and started wagging his tail!!! Oh my! He has a bit of a cold, causing him to cough (it isn’t heartworms, just a cold) but I had to shoot the video anyway so you could see his demeanor. Once he is

Mosquitofrog West Nile Virus is a rapidly emerging arbovirus transmitted primarily by mosquitoes.2,4 The primary hosts for West Nile Virus are birds (eg, crow, Blue Jay). Mosquitoes that feed oninfected birds can transmit the diseaseto humans. Humans and other animals (eg, horses) serve as incidental hosts. 2 Approximately 1 in 5 individualsinfected with WNV demonstratesymptoms, and 1 in 150 shows CNSinvolvement.2 A fulminant course is fatal. Excluding West Nile Virus, thereare four main arbovirus agents ofencephalitis: LAC encephalitis, EEE,WEE, and SLE. Most cases occur from June through September. SLE is themost common mosquito-transmittedhuman pathogen in the US.5 Incidencevaries with occurrence and intensity ofepidemic transmission. Populations atincreased risk include:• LAC — children• WEE — rural residents of the West• SLE — elderly, low income areas 5 No human vaccines are currently available.

Question by Dsgnrgrl: Going to work with ringworm?
I just got ringworm from my dog. I didn’t go into work today, because I don’t want to spread it. Since its a short week this week Im wondering if I should just take off tomorrow and Wednesday as well so I can stay home and treat it. I dont want everyone else in the office to catch it.

Question by priscilla: My dog has parasites…If my 2 month baby gets them , what can i do? how can i know if my baby has parasites?

Best answer:

Answer by Apple Juice
Don’t let the dog around your baby. Do NOT let the dog give you or your baby kisses. My dog had ghiardia when I was pregnant. As long as he doesn’t give you guys kisses you will both be fine. It will be very bad if your baby gets parasites. The parasites are inside of him, and need to get inside of you, if you just pet your dog, they won’t jump out of him and into you, just keep your distance to be safe!

How long do hookworms live in the dirt? what kills them?

Question by xxbamagirl27xx: How long do hookworms live in the dirt? what kills them?
I have a puppy that got hookworms from a dog I was (dog) sitting. I later found out that the other dog came from an irresponsible breeder that has a massive hookworm infestation!! Her puppies die!! She has lost 7 puppies just from the last litter! I did not know this, or I would not have agreed to watch the pup. Now my dog has hookworms. I have always scooped her poop, I have a sealed bucket lined with a trash bag that I put the poop in, and then dispose of it. Is this a good way?? I have heard that the worms will still be in the dirt, even after the poop is gone. How long will it be there? I live in GA, so the climate is ideal for these worms. How can I kill it? The vet dewormed my dog, and I bought some heartgaurd plus, so she is good.
