Every morning when I take my dog outside to use the restroom he poops but there is like these white worms(they look like rice grains)that come out. What will happen if I don’t take him to the vet? How bad could it get? What do you think caused it? This happens EVERY morning not afternoon or night.

I have just noticed a couple days ago while I was in the living room a black worm on the floor. I didn’t think it was from my dog so I just swept it outside.
The next day I found another in the bathroom. Over the course of the following days after I found a number of them around my apartment. I realized they were from my dog.
I just took my dog to the vet a few days ago but didn’t mention it because at the time I didn’t know it was her. The vet did give her all her shots and I remember him telling me that one of the shots had a wormer also.
I was trying to find out what type of worms they are but can’t. They are spaghetti like, black and a couple inches long. Not long. They also seem to have little “feet”. I don’t know how else to call it.
What should I do? Take her to the vet again?
Thanks all.
Well I am not 100% sure they are coming from the dog but how else will they come in. I don’t see them anywhere outside or in the yard? I am not sure. But I find them around where she lies down.

I used to buy heart gard from the vet all the time. But I stopped because it got too expensive and I don’t have the money. I don’t walk my dog at parks or anything like that. I only let her out in my backyard to do her thing and let her back in. She is not an outside dog. She is a 20 lb. fox terrior and is 6 yrs. old and in healthy condition. She’s only been to the vet for shots and has never been sick. Is this okay not to give her heart worm pills? I love my dog and want her to live a long time, but can’t afford them. Buffy is a very active Fox Terrior and plays all the time. I recall having dogs growing up and we never gave the dogs heart worm pills and they lived a long time. Is this just another way for Vets to get money from us? Or are these heart worm pills crutial for dogs to live a healthy life?

I was never updated by my vet that he needed his heart worm shot and medicing in May. Well now its almost September and my dog and I were just told he was suppose to have it then. I am so mad at my vet that I have gone to another vets. should I worry about still getting this done for my dog? or is it to late for it to help him if hes been exposed to Heart worms? I mean I am scared for him but everyone is saying the pills don’t even really help anyways and also that the dog wouldn’t get them because hes hardly ever outside. what would you do? he has like 3 months left for the pills but do you think I should just wait?
I live in Maine and we don’t do it all year long, we do it from May to December. even in December they say we don’t need it and they only recommend from my vets that you just get the test every year.
