I have a 2-1/2 year old Black lab/Border Collie mutt. Recently (within the last month or so) we noticed that on her sides, her hair is thinning. In some places, her hair is coming out in wandering lines; the lines look worm-like in shape, although there is no redness, its not ringworm, she doesn’t seem to be itchy, and it is not puffy or anything like that. We feed her quality food, and our other dog (a Bassett Hound) is not experiencing any skin problems. The only info I have found online about hair loss doesn’t seem to fit the bill. Any other ideas?

Before I go into it, I AM taking him to the vet TODAY, I already have my appointment but I would like some input as to what it might be:
My dog (a weimarener x) has been having extremely runny stool since Tuesday (at first I thought he just ate something he wasn’t supposed to), but since it’s gotten worse he’s lost his appetite and won’t drink very much either.
He is 9 months old, and the past two nights he’s been waking up to be outside and again his stool is extremely runny. He ALWAYS sleeps through the night and so getting up to go is unusual for him…Last night and this morning he has been shivering when he sleeps and that’s all he wants to do is sleep.
Also, he has started to not put pressure on his back right leg. I made him some rice/beef mixture an hour ago and he ate that fine and drank a few sips of water, I have also been giving him some ice cubes to try and hydrate him.
He is an indoor dog and is the only dog and is always on a leash when he is outside, he is also up to date on all of his shots, and was treated for worms when he was a puppy… so I have NO idea on what this could be!
Again I will be taking him to the vet TODAY just wanted some input, as i’m really worried about him…Thanks!

I just read the previous question, they said it’s about 98% chance the new puppies comes with worms, I just got a new puppy and didn’t take him to a vet until today, we bought him two weeks ago. My son is one of those child that doesn’t like to wash his hands, and sucking his thumbs. How transmittable are the tape worm and round worms to human? He has been playing with Dog food in the food bawl, should I take him to the Pediatritian without any sign and symptoms?

I changed her food about 2 months ago to a better, more protein food. I switched her back (to Iams) to see if that is the problem. You can see her ribs and vertabrae. She is still eating, and does not have any other symptoms. From what I can tell, I don’t think she has worms. She has updated shots as well. My vet is not cheap and I have a low budget, any suggestions?
