episodes. any ideas what it is? Please do not say take him to the vet, his appt is tomorrow, i just want to know kind of what to expect. i was told it may be tapeworms, and the seizures are because his blood sugar is too low due to the worms. he had fleas really bad when i bought him, so that kind of fits. what do you think?

Okay, I have a weakness for dogs. I found the most precious puppy the other day and brought her home. She was really skinny, and still is, but she is eating great. But sometimes she starts wheezing and then almost “gasps” for breath. She does this when she is awake, and even in her sleep. Someone told me that is a sign of heart worms…any serious opinions?? (BTW: I am planning on taking her to the vet when I can, but I would like an opinion now…) Thanks!!

He stands still with stiff hindquarters and turns his head from side to side as if trying to get at his rump. He also licks the air when he does this and groans. I have been to the vet and he cleared his anal glands, yet the behaviour continued. Worms have been suggested because he is unable to ’scoot’ due to his short stature and so does this behaviour instead. There is no evidence in his stools and I have wormed him. The behaviour eased off for 3 weeks and is back again. Our other dog shows no symptoms of worms.

He ate a little of it before I even knew what he was doing. There are a lot of stray cats around here and I’m concerned that he’ll get worms from it. He is on Heartgard, of course, but that doesn’t cover all types of worms. Should I have him fecal tested right away, or just look for symptoms? I think some types of intestinal worms don’t have symptoms though, right? I’m confused.
