I have linked below some sites that will give you symptoms. The main one I look for is excessive eating or hunger and weight loss. But that can be after they have had them for awhile. We always had greyhounds and the first few we fostered had worms and those are what we noticed. Also you can check their stool for worms. Some symptoms the sites list are:
Dull coat
Weight loss
Appetite loss
Pot-bellied appearance
Coughing
Low energy level
Diarrhea
Vomiting

I have three dogs. Two of my dogs are newer to the family and haven’t had they’re shots. But today when I went to see them in their house I noticed that one of them was throwing up and both of them weren’t eating when I fed them. I noticed when I looked in Sampson’s throw up they’re was a white worm. I wanted to know what was the worm. And if stress causes the worms to effect they’re system more. I gave them heart worm medicine a few months ago but they’re not eating and looking kind of skinny. I just love my dogs a lot and need to know what to do.

My dog has his worm shots and everything, but whenever I walk him around my neighborhood he always eats random things and dog/cat poop! I’m afraid he might have worms….
How can I tell?
and what will happen?
and can humans get worms? what would happen to them?

also, a web site I can refer to would also be helpful, although not necessary.
