How do I help the medication cure my dog of tape worm?
My 7 months old puppy has a bad case of tape worm. The first dose of medication didn’t work. The vet gave him a second dose and said that if it does not work we have to put him down. We just got him about 3 months ago to replace another dog that we had to put down due to neurological problems. We also have a tea cup yorky that can not live alone which is why we replaced the first dog. I love this dog so much and I do not think I could handle holding another dog as the vet injects it. Please help.

Revolution…keeps your dog away from all kinds on worms.
Revolution is a systemically acting, broad-spectrum parasiticide that has a well defined safety profile combined with excellent efficacy to help protect your dog and cat against a wide variety of parasites. Your veterinarian is the best source of information to ensure the proper healthcare of your pet. So you may want to get your dog on this treatment.
Good Luck!
Troll, can’t wait for school to start again. It ALWAYS takes 2 doses for tapeworm and no vet will euthanize a puppy for having tapeworms. Go and play somewhere else, please.
i would recommend getting a second opinion from another vet. I have never heard of a case of tape worm not being able to get rid of them. Maybe I am wrong but I would see someone else.
If your vet is recommending euthanasia for tapeworms, it’s time for another vet. Usually two doses of medication will take care of the worms. You can also use Revolution. It is a topical product for fleas but also kills internal parasites. Heartworm medications are not specific to just heartworms. These medications kill all internal worms and if you’re treating with something specific for tapeworm and treating regularly for heartworms, the tapeworms should be things of the past.
It’s a TROLL that’s probably not even old enough to be here. If this is real, vets don’t euthanize dogs because of worms. I have the feeling that you are using OTC cr@p.
Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows that there is NO such thing as a TEACUP Yorkie. Sounds like you are the one who needs to be INJECTED so you cannot reproduce more little trolls.
I cant believe thatyour vet would even suggest euth b/c of worms. Tapeworms are easy to elimate but you will not get rid of the worms if you do not get rid of the sorce of the worms-FLEAS. Get some comfortis from a vet(I would suggest a new vet) to elimate the fleas and then retreat for the worms using a product given to you from the vet.
give him another dose,
