Has anyone ever heard of a dog having a worm in it’s eye?
This question is for people who who really know what they are talking about. Of course, she is going to the vet tomorrow. Today I noticed a small white thing in my year old dog’s eye. I took it out with a tissue and it looked like a tiny worm (smaller than a grain of rice). It wasn’t moving, but I poked at it and it was squishy. If it was a worm, it was dead. She has recently been treated for tapeworms and has no worms in her stool. I will treat her for the tapeworms again in about a week. Has anyone ever had this happen? Vet techs or people with animal experience, what gives?

not personally but yeah i heard if this. good luck with the baby tomorrow
There is a such thing as an “eye worm,” or thelazia californiensis. They show up more often in animals on the west coast in the US. They are often found along with conjunctivitis. They are rare, and are spreadable to just about any mammal, including people. The vet is a good idea for conformation.
Here’s a pic.

I have never seen one but I did find this info
Thelazia californiensis
The eyeworm, Thelazia californiensis, can infest cats, dogs, sheep, deer, and other mammals and cause a disease known as thelaziasis. This is not a common disease, but it does show that parasitic worms can wind up just about anywhere. Eyeworms live in the tear ducts, between the eye and the lids (conjunctival sac and under the third eyelid). They generally do not cause serious disease, but can be annoying, as you can imagine. Humans, in rare circumstances, can become infested. Eyeworms are most common on the Pacific Coast.
maybe you could take the worm to the vet tomorrow. And i might of but i dont think so search it up on google.
I hope your pet is healthy and has no worms!
