when they look sick and geting sick
Vomiting, diarrhea, dragging themself across the carpet on their bottom. Long white things in their stool. Things that look like dried rice around their rectum. There are a lot of different worms and they all make them sick in different ways.
They usually will scoot across the floor. You may also see them in the poop, they will be small and white(like grains of rice).
It will scoot itself across the floor over and over. Also, watch the stool. In any case, get it checked by a vet. Sometimes the anal glands cause that scooting as well.
Most worm infestations cause any or all of these symptoms:
diarrhea, perhaps with blood in the stool;
weight loss;
dry hair;
general poor appearance;
and vomiting, where sometime the worms can be seen
. However, some infestations cause few or no symptoms; in fact some worm eggs or larvae can be dormant in the dog’s body and activated only in times of stress, or in the case of roundworms, until the latter stages of pregnancy, when they activate and infest the soon-to-be-born puppies.
Best way to find out is to go to the vet to take some stool samples.

If it is a tape worm, it looks like little grains of rice hanging off your dogs butt fur. Smaller worms you just see it in their poop. Or they might throw up some with worms in it. Just give them worm medicine regularly and you won’t have to worry about it.
