I have found that the best way to give any pills to my dogs are to stick it in the mozzarella white string cheese. I asked the Vet and this is the same cheese that is used in a lot of dog foods. Mine love it and they don’t even realize that I just gave them medicine. Actually they always want more
My chi did the same thing with the same brand – I had to tear it up in little pieces and then put a little bacon grease over it. She ate every piece and licked the bowl clean!
Aren’t dog a pain at times. My dogs loved Heart Guard. They thought it was candy. I switched them to Interceptor, which was supposed to be better. It is a little flavored pill and they wanted nothing to do with it. I have found to get a dog to take anything a bunch of peanut butter works pretty good.
My dog is on hypothyroidism medicine and he will ONLY take it if it’s got peanut butter on it. They love peanut butter for some reason.
I have to get my dog around the throught with my arm, and push any tablet down past her tougne, cruel but kind, basically force feed.
I have a dog at home he is a big german Shepherd we used him the heart worm pill things but we kept forgetting so we went to the vet and he gave our dog a shot that allows you to not have to give him the pills for a whole year. I would suggest that one then you don’t have to worry about giving him anything when you go on a long trip or even just forgetting.
Good luck,

Try the pill poppers – you can get them at Petco/Petsmart. Another option is to grind it up, mix it with water and give it to him via a syringe.
