my dog took a poop in the house and i saw a little skiny light pink worm on the poop i dont what worm it is?

or medication to get him i dont have any money to take him to vet (just lost my job) somebody please help and tell me what to do.
this is my first dog and i just got him. and i have 2 small kids so can this be passed to my kids and i thank you
I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR HELP. I WAS TOOK HIM TO THE VET AND ITS TAPE WORMS SO HE GOT DEWORMED AND I HAVE TO GIVE HIM MEDS. AND MY KIDS ARE OK. SO THANK YOU ALL YOU HELPED ME OUT AND TO ALSO CALM DOWN…….SMILE AND HAVE A GOOD DAY

Give him Drontal – I guess you can buy it from a pet store or the net, dosage appropriate for the dogs weight, repeat in 14 days.
Your dog has worms. I don’t know much about worms so I had to look it up.
Yes the dog’s worms can be passed to your children. The best thing at this point is to take your dog to the vet to take a look at it. You can’t just give your dog random medication and hope it cures the worm because doing that can harm your dog. Your vet will have to take a look @ the sample, and do an evalutation on your dog and proceed to give the proper medication for the type of worm it is (hookworm, tapeworm, roundworm, and whipworm).
You have to find a way to take your dog to the vet, even if you lost your job (sorry to say).

Go to a pet care store and buy some Canex products for your dogs. Canex products come in several formats (check out the link below) so you’ll be able to select one most appropriate for your dog.
Each of the Canex products treats a number of common worms in dogs: roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms , whipworms so chances are that the worm you found in your dog’s stool is one of those. Do it today to protect your pet and especially and more importantly, your children.
If the store does not carry Canex, you can ask them for some other brand that may be equivalent. Or order Canex online via the same link below. It isn’t that expensive.
Probably the worm is a tape worm, mammals get them from ingesting fleas or flea eggs. People get them the same way, so if your kids ingest fleas, they will get tapeworms. You can easily treat it with a drug called Drontal, you can get this from your vet for about $15 for two doses. You give one pill, then two weeks later, you give the second dose. If you call your vet, and talk to the vet tech/assistant and explain your financial situation, they will probably work with you. Please don’t get the cheap stuff at the discount store, it usually does more harm than good, causing diarrhea and such without ridding the animal of worms.
I would also recommend dipping your dog in a flea/tick dip. You can get this at your AG store, (Zema, Zodiac,Fosters) for about $12 bucks and then your pet won’t have fleas anymore for a while. Fill a large trashcan, one your dog can sit in and not be underwater, then put the appropriate amount of dip per gallon in the can, and put your dog in it. Doing this outside is much easier than the bathtub method, then you can dump the dip outside and kill the fleas/ticks in the yard.
If it’s flat, it’s a tapeworm. Otherwise it may be a roundworm. Either way, the best thing to do would be to take him to a Vet so he can get de-wormed and medicated.
If you can’t afford it, try going to your local SPCA. They usually try to work with low-income families.
Wow all the long explinations for such a simple answer! LOL Just go to any pet store(I go to TSC) they sell ALL KINDS of wormer. Read the boxes some treat one kind of worm others will treat several kinds. I buy the tasty paste. It is beef flavored and I have no prooblem giving it to my dogs.
**Side Note**
You are not going to kill your dog if you worm them! LOL If the worms do not go away then you take your dog to the vet.
OTC wormers can be harmful to pets. A vet needs to determine the type of worm or worms the dog has so they can know what medication to treat the dog with. They will need a fecal sample. Yes, many parasites can be passed to children. Use a credit card or arrange for payments.
