Go to a vet and get proper medication.

It works great when a vet prescribes it and gives you the proper medicine.
Why would you waste your money on cr@p OTC junk? Take a stool sample to the vet’s and you’ll get the correct meds/dosage to treat the dog.
Many over-the-counter dewormers don’t work very well because they are either not strong enough, not at the right dosage per weight, or don’t have you giving it long enough to treat the problems. How much does your dog weight? Also, what types of intestinal parasites does it have? Safeguard is fenbendazole which treats multiple parasites. D-Worm is praziquantel which treats a couple types of parasites. Most are rare, except for tapeworms. So basically, it’s for treating tapeworms. If your dog doesn’t have tapeworms (they look like little pieces of rice around the anus or in the stool), it won’t work at all. I recommended seeing your vet and getting the dewormer from them. Prescription based products are almost always going to work better. You’ll end up spending less money in the long run.
There are only 2 worms that you can see with the naked eye, round worm and tape worm. If you are seeing dead worms expelled, then your Safeguard is working.
It would have to be at least 2 weeks before you should use another wormer.
Round worm is white and about 4 inches long.
Tape worm is white and about 2 inches long. Tape will start to shrink up after exposure to the air and will shrink to the size of a grain of rice.
Safeguard is the same chemical as Panacur, which vets use. It will kill hook, round, and whip worm. I used it last month before taking a pup to the vet and having a repeat fecal done. First fecal said worms, second fecal said none. It does work. It says that it controls tape, but that is not a cure.
D-worm is the chemical Pyrantel Pamoate which vets also use. It kills round and hook, but nothing else.
If you have tapeworm, you’ll need to buy Praziquantel which is OTC. This is the same chemical as Droncit, which vets use for tape.
