I’m so freaked out! I change my dog’s water on a weekly basis and we found like five of these little worm-like bugs (they were like a greenish color) and were just swimming around in the corner of the water dish… what are they?! Should I be worried?!

Weekly?
You should be changing their water DAILY!!
I’d be worried.
never heard of that before. They could have come in from the outside and landed in your dog’s dish. If you are worried, scoop them out, and take them to the vet, they will be able to determine what they are and if they are affecting your dog.
Eeew… Sounds like some sort of larvae, they probably are not harmful to your dog but would indicate to me that the water is unhealthful for your dog to be drinking. Dogs should have fresh clean water every single day. Please change it more often than once a week in the future. If you wouldn’t drink it, don’t make your dog drink it, either.
your dog may have worms.
that’s something you should look in to.
fo sho.

Weekly basis!????
Water should be changed on a daily basis! This way insect dont have a chance to live in your dogs water.
I have no idea what kind of insects those are. But you should be changing the water daily not weekly!
What you are seeing in your dogs water is most likely mosquito larva. Needless to say, this can be quite harmful to your dog due to mosquito’s ability to cary heartworms and other diseases. Your pets water needs to be changed AT LEAST once a day – usually twice a day in the summer!
Make sure your dog is on heartworm medication since you obviously have a mosquito issue.
I wouldn’t let the dog drink it, and I would worm your dog regularly. Put apple cider vinegar one table spoon per gallon of water. That helps to kill larva and keeps fleas and ticks away.
That is totally discusting. How can you change you dog’s water weekly? If this is for real, why don’t you drink the water first and test it out for your dog. Sounds like there is a little protein in the water for you too. This is just gross.
