My Boyfriend Has Excessive Mucus In His Feces, What Could It Be?
After we got a puppy, we both started having symptoms of aggressive cramps while defecating. We both examined our feces, and I made sure it wasn’t moving, OR worms(because we took our dog to the vet, and she had hookworms–she is done with antibiotics, and is clean of worms). My symptoms went away in 3 days. He still has his and frankly, his looks a lot more gross than mine did. Looks very white and mucus-like. I’ve done the research. I know it’s nothing something he ate, for we eat the same meals and I dont have it any more. It has been going on for about 1 week. Any suggestions? I can only assume it’s infection, or bacterial disease.

Allergies can cause mucus in the stool as well. It might have been a coonincidence that you had it at the same time. Or it could have been a virus infection that has now triggered this reaction. (explaining why you are better and he is not)
Set up that appt with a doctor, but have him keep track of his food intake (every scrap of food – how much and when eaten) as well as a record of when he’s defecating (time, consistancy, color).
Tell the doctor about the puppy having worms. He might have you pick up a sample cup before coming in so you can bring a stool sample with when he comes in. (Or he may just have you bring one in later and give you the cup when you come in for the appt)
Good luck!
it is most def an infection. he needs to go see a dr. asap before it turns into something much much worse.
