Why Is My Staffy X Lab Behaving Oddly? Is It Worms Or Something Else?
He stands still with stiff hindquarters and turns his head from side to side as if trying to get at his rump. He also licks the air when he does this and groans. I have been to the vet and he cleared his anal glands, yet the behaviour continued. Worms have been suggested because he is unable to ‘scoot’ due to his short stature and so does this behaviour instead. There is no evidence in his stools and I have wormed him. The behaviour eased off for 3 weeks and is back again. Our other dog shows no symptoms of worms.

Take him to the vet. It doesn’t sound like worms although regular worming (every 3 months) is recommended by most experts.
It could be anything from itchy skin to a sort of seizure, so it will be worth checking out.
That’s strange. I would take him back to the vet and have some testing done. Usually if he has worms, there is definitely evidence in his stool. Could it be fleas on his back side near the top of his tail? Maybe he is trying to bite at them? Maybe it’s dry skin at the beginning of his tail?
Vet.
It can be either worms, or his anal glands are full and bothering him, they need to be cleaned out maybe, only your vet will, take the dog to the vet for anal check and worm check, the worms can make him sick if that is what it is…
I’m with the other girl. It could be fleas or some skin condition making him ichy. It’s very stressful for you and the dog. He may have an allergy to something.
